Boston Marathon – We Are Back

April 18 marked the return of the traditional running of the Boston Marathon on the third Monday in April, and the only major marathon to be held on a weekday. Established in 1887, the Boston Marathon 2022 hosted 25,314 runners from all 50 United States and other 120 countries.

Qualifying to compete against the best

Qualifying is the tough way to run in Boston. Sponsorship exemptions are available, and each athlete who participates on behalf of an Official Charity must raise a minimum of $5,000.

A subset of the 2022 qualifying times are:

• Age 35 -39 (M/W) 3:05:00, 3:35:00

• Age 40-44 (M/W) 3:10:00, 3:40:00

• Age 45-49 (M/W) 3:20:00, 3:50:00

And the winners are … well compensated

Total prize money for 2022 totals $879,00 and is divided among the open, masters, and wheelchair divisions. Here are the top winners:
