The 2023 American College of Foot & Ankle Surgeons (ACFAS) Annual Conference was last week in Los Angeles, CA.


Here are some highlights, in case you missed it:

  • New leadership. Dr. Eric Barp, DPM, FACFAS, became the 72nd president of the ACFAS. He is a foot and ankle surgeon with the Iowa Clinic in Des Moines.

  • More international lecture tracts. Orthopedic surgeons from abroad again provided interesting perspective and insight oneverything from minimally invasive surgery to total ankle replacement. These sessions will available on demand Mar. 3.

  • Research. Ankle replacement and foot and ankle reconstruction remained a heavy focus this year. Watch for the formal award press release in the coming weeks.
