Digital Planning 2.0

Prophecy planning opened up the foot and ankle world to digital planning. Released in 2008, Prophecy showed that the INBONE II implant could be placed within 3 degrees of the intended target using digital planning and patient-specific guides.

Why not plan everything?

At the AOFAS annual meeting last week, RedPoint Medical displayed The Better Bunion system. Using proprietary AI software, it converts data derived from a CT scan of the patient’s foot into a 3D model. It is then manipulated to resemble the desired correction as prescribed by the surgeon. Intended to be implant-agnostic, the cut guides can even guide the position of the preferred hardware for fixation of the osteotomy or TMT fusion.
